Shape Dancing

This is Freeze Dance with an InterPlay twist. You can do this by yourself or with your kids. You might want to try both and see how they are different.

Put on some music and dance any way you want to. Every now and them, hold still in a shape. When you are ready, move again, and then hold a different shape. Everybody does this at their own pace, with their own timing.

Some different things you can try while you are dancing include:

  • Play around with different shapes. How do they feel in your body?
  • Play around with how long you hold a shape. How does it feel to hold a shape while others dance?
  • Play around with moving while others dance and holding while others move. How does that feel?
  • Play around with moving and holding still following somebody else’s timing. How does that feel in your body?
